Winona Lake was founded in 1966 by Howard Wellman & his wife, Althea Wellman. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, dedication and commitment to the generations of guests who have made memories at Winona Lake. 

It was in 1965 that Althea was looking at the paper, and an ad popped out at her. The paper said, take your acreage and turn it into recreation.
Althea told Howard "Look at this". That's when it all started.
Althea says it's the craziest thing they ever did.

Winona Lake has grew into the adventure of a lifetime. It's all about family-friendly fun in the sun. The floating playground offers mind-blowing, adrenaline-pumping, out-of-this-world water-based recreation for people of all ages!

For 50 years, Winona Lake has been offering memories that last a lifetime.
